Once our words have been spoken, they cannot be erased; only forgiven (paraphrasing my way around #7).
Our words bind things to us:
I love you to another
I promise to duty
Poetry to intimate self.
I concede: the system is flawed. We haven’t eradicated bias from America; it took us how long to even recognize we had it?
But if you invoke racism, discrimination, understand the implications and centuries-long emotion you are invoking. Only speak from absolute certainty.
For the only response to a force that destructive is not anger or hate, but broken heartedness and desire for change.
