“Know that people,
through history and today,
understand how much courage it takes
to stay.”
People walk.
Literally, metaphorically, emotionally, existentially,
and everyone agrees no one would blame you.
It’s your choice where you move and
it’s the easiest thing in the world: to walk.
It requires no responsibility, no effort;
it allows for victim-playing,
circumstance-blaming.
circumstance-blaming.
But what would happen if we made a habit of staying?
Of staying with our passions,
our goals,
our promises,
our people.
What if we stopped letting circumstance determine our presence?
What if we determined our presence, well, on our own?
What if you made staying your choice,
just for today.
I chose to stay;
it saved my life.
