Today, I am scared.

I am scared because of indefinitely postponed work for my small business that does not have paid sick leave. I am scared for my friends and partner who are considered essential personnel at work.

I am scared for my parents who are over 70, and that fear rises with every “Victims Over 80 Left to Die” headline I read, no matter how true or false.

But because I’m trying hard to trust instead of fear, I choose to trust Home.

(And washing my fucking hands.)

Home, and all of the people and dogs and cat that make it up, even if I can’t see or touch most of them for the foreseeable future. But I know how fortunate I am, today and all other days, because my home is Home.

As someone who works from home full-fucking-time, social distancing feels relatively normal. And as someone who works from home full-fucking-time, being shut off from other people can be lonely and isolating—even when home is Home.

For some, school is Home.
Or maybe work is Home.
Perhaps home is Home, but only when family is at work or school.

If you’re home isn’t Home, I’d like to invite you into mine.

You can send me an email, join my Twitter or Instagram conversations, comment on this post, or show me your own home to fill with love.

There are still so many things that aren’t being cancelled, and I want to do them all with you, because we are only going to beat this together.
